 Remember: the Local will reimburse 90% of your fees upon course completion with a valid certificate and receipts.

Steps to Register for Technical Training

2. From the left column, click Technical Training Center
3. Scroll down to the heading Steps to Register for Technical Training

Three easy steps:

1. Choose an available class
   1. Go to http://www.tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca/index.html?page=ttschedules/default.asp
   2. Under the heading, Concrete Finisher,
      click the year you want training,
      The system will display where/when classes are available.
2. Complete the Enrollment Form;
   http://www.tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca/trades/pdf/enrollment_info/enrolment_form.pdf
3. Send your completed form along with the fees to your training provider (the school). 
   • Once you are enrolled, a confirmation letter will be provided to both you and your employer.
   • Once registered, any changes to your training schedule must be made through your training provider directly.

Before you attempt to challenge any exam, we suggest you:

1. Take the Concrete Finisher Knowledge Evaluation Quiz
2. Test results will help determine any strengths/weakness.
3. Should there be any topic areas that require review, we have course materials that you can purchase for studying.

Government / TradeSecrets criteria for challenging exams:

If you hold a valid recognized credential, and want an Alberta document that says you do, you may apply for an Alberta document that indicates you hold a recognized credential and are allowed to work in a particular trade or branch of a trade. Use the Equivalency Application.

If you DO NOT hold a valid credential, or you hold a valid credential that is NOT RECOGNIZED,  
you may apply to have your skills and knowledge assessed against Alberta’s standards. Use the Qualification Certificate Program – Work Experience Application
